About me

  • Elephantine is blogged by Rachel.

I write fiction at night, am almost always hungry, and am still working on that cure for procrastination... Elephantine is about finding beautiful objects and reporting the daily minutiae.

    I love getting email.

explosions in the sky

The start of the weekend calls for a little fun, no? Sass & Bide Fall 2008.

Today's overheard bus conversation:

"I had to go home early the other day, you know, because I was having these awful back pains," woman number one says. "Well, I went to the doctor today, and he told me that it's just due to stress because I hate my job. Ha! Ha! Ha!" After catching her breath, she adds, still humored: "I guess I just need therapy."

"Or," suggests woman number two in a dampened voice, with serious concern, "you need a new job."

This afternoon I tripped over a term that I have been unconsciously in search of for years. Now when someone asks me what kind of novel I'm aspiring to write, I can muster up a slick, sweet French accent and reply, "How kind of you to ask – I'm working on a roman à clef."

Thanks for visiting my blog. Indian food is always more spices and flavors :)

Hi Rachel,

Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day and commenting on one of my posts. You asked what Japan's Vogue is like and I came hear to answer your question! Japan Vogue is basically like US Vogue, except the editorials are usually different (sometimes they use the same scans as US in a later issue), but most of the time Japan uses European looking models instead of Asian. Of course everything is written in Japanese, but it's mostly about all the fashion trends and it doesn't concentrate on Japanese fashion as much as it does on high fashion.

I hope I answered your question! And please stop by my blog again when you have the time!

BTW, I love your plushies! They are soo cute! Keep up the fabulous work!

I actually like the dress on the left!
