(Isn't this a cute concept? Hanger Tea by Soon Mo Kang, via The Dieline.)
The other day I was fantasizing about honeymooning in Paris... so what do I do? I make up my mind to learn French. It is, I decide, a fabulous – no, fabuleux – idea.
So that's my new project.
(Did you know that there is a French-for-beginners podcast with two Scottish hosts? Now, I love Scottish accents. But it's hard not to be humored by the image of it – of me virtually transported to Scotland in order to learn French.)
Anyway, last night, I tried out my newfound knowledge on Bodhi. "Bonjour, Bodhi!" I exclaimed with a horrible accent. "Comment ça va? Ça va bien, Bodhi?"
As far as dogs go, he seemed impressed.
Then Stefan asked the practical question: "What are you going to do once you learn French?"
"Watch French movies," I retorted. "And understand them."
